Paraguayan President Mario Abdo Benítez stated that his administration’s primary objective was to consolidate democracy in the country, which was established in 1989 following the dictatorship of Alfredo Stroessner. In his report to the newly inaugurated Congress, Abdo Benítez highlighted the progress made and challenges faced during his five-year term, which he described as the most difficult since historical conflicts.Addressing the deputies and senators virtually, Abdo Benítez emphasized the successful year in consolidating democracy as the administration’s main goal. The president’s message was attended in person by the president of the Congress, Senator Silvio Ovelar, and the head of the Chamber of Deputies, Raúl Latorre.Mario Abdo Benítez.
