Kurnool: Black fungi claimed two lives of Corona patients going through treatment at Kurnool Federal government General Medical Facility on Sunday.
The two clients, one aged 35 years from Guntur and the other 66 years old client from Anantapur, were admitted to KGGH on problems of Covid-related disorders, stated Medical facility Superintendent DR G Narendranath Reddy.Explaining the condition of the patients who died of Black Fungus, Dr.
Reddy said their eyes were inflamed and were in bad condition.
Worrying the requirement to manage blood sugar levels in Covid patients, he stated that they should keep an eye on sugar levels frequently and require to keep them within the ranges specified by the procedures.
Dr.
C Prabhakar Reddy, the cardiothoracic cosmetic surgeon, said Black Fungus is not a new disease and the incidence of deaths is also one in a million clients.
On the increased prevalence of black fungus amongst covid clients, he stated making use of steroids can not be discontinued as they have more helpful usage than damage.
Even after the discharge of Covid clients, they were put on moderate steroids.
The issue is doctors are not educating the public about the need to keep sugar levels under control, he said.Black fungus gets into the human immune system by breathing in the odors from the putrid product found around the environment like fruit and veggie waste, garbage piling up on the residential areas, etc.
