NEW DELHI: Delegates pertaining to India to attend G20 occasions will be exempted from the 2% random Covid screening guideline for worldwide arrivals.

The external affairs ministry had actually requested the aviation ministry for this exemption on Wednesday to grant this exemption till November 2023-- till the time the G20 occasions will be arranged.

The request of ministry of external affairs for exemption from 2% random screening for G20 delegates/participants from a number of countries and global organisations scheduled to get here till November 2023 has actually been considered in consultation with ministry of health and family welfare.

Based on the NOC given by the health ministry, air travel ministry has actually chosen to give exemption to getting here G20 delegates at Indian airports from 2% random testing for Covid-19, the air travel ministry composed to airports on Thursday.

In view of the above, all airport operators are asked for to take proper action in this matter, it adds.India had resumed random Covid screening for 2% international arrivals from December 24, 2022, due to an increase in cases in some countries.

Furthermore, guests coming from certain countries designated as high danger at the minute, consisting of Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong, South Korea, Thailand, Japan and China, are required to undergo a RT-PCR test within 72 hour of arrival to India.
